Western Carolina University. Assistant Professor, Birth-Kindergarten

This is a 9-month, tenure-track position that begins 8-1-2010. Faculty member will teach, supervise and advise in the Birth-Kindergarten program. In addition, faculty will share program responsibilities, provide service and conduct research. Instructional load currently includes online course delivery. Salary ranges up to a maximum of $51,000 for a 9 month position, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications: Required: Doctorate in early childhood education, early childhood special education, child development; or a closely related field; expertise in working with young children birth-kindergarten; eligibility for North Carolina licensure.

Preferred: Experience teaching courses in birth-kindergarten program, experience advising students, experience in online instruction and development of online courses, and evidence of a research agenda. Review of credentials will begin immediately and continue until position is filled.
