National Center to Inform Policy and Practice in Special Education Professional Development (NCIPP)

The National Center to Inform Policy and Practice in Special Education (NCIPP) is an OSEP-funded center which aims to improve teacher quality and increase commitment to teaching students with disabilities by:

• informing special education policy and practice on induction and mentoring
• identifying and recommending induction and mentoring implementation strategies

NCIPP recently released 8 Induction Insights aimed specifically for teacher educators. Induction Insights are a collection of briefs derived from longer research syntheses that target key topical areas in special education induction and mentoring. Titled include Co-teaching and Team Teaching: Promising Practices for Special Education Teacher Induction and First-Year Challenges: Using the Concerns of Novice Special Education Teachers to Inform Preservice Practices.
